Rector of the Moscow Theological Academy took part in the XI Christmas Parliamentary Meetings in the State Duma

On January 26, 2023, His Holiness Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill and V.V. Volodin, Chairman of the State Duma Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, led the XI Christmas Parliamentary Meetings held as a part of the XXII International Christmas Educational Readings "Global Challenges of Modernity and the Spiritual Choice of a Man."

In addition to the plenary session in the State Duma, there were some round tables on “Church, state, army: historical tradition and modern aspects of cooperation”, “Prospects for the educational development keeping with traditional spiritual and moral values”, “Preventing ways to keep people’s lives and improve the birth rate”.

The meeting was attended by members of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, deputies of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, members of the Holy Synod, hierarchs and the clergy of the Russian Orthodox Church, representatives of Muslim and Jewish communities, government agencies, scientific and public organizations. The Bishop of Zvenigorod Kirill, Rector of the Moscow Theological Academy, attended the meeting.

Then, a word was given to V.V. Volodin, Chairman of the State Duma.

After the speeches of the authorities, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill and Chairman of the State Duma V.V. Volodin presented awards and memorable gifts to the winners of the All-Russian pedagogical competition "For the moral feat of a teacher" for work with children and youth under 20 and the International Children's Art Competition "The Beauty of God's World" dedicated to St. Sergius of Radonezh.
