MThA Rector Bishop Kirill Leads Sunday Liturgy and Performs Diaconal Ordination

Gathering together in church to turn their hearts to the Truth, Christians themselves form the spiritual building of the Church. Each stone of the House is a member of the Church, a person, an individual. The Body of Christ is us, and our Head is the Savior. In this truly heavenly-earthly Organism, the voices of people sincerely cry out to God: "Come, Jesus! Come to us!"

God gives a person the opportunity to choose: the path of life, aspirations, faith or unbelief, life or death. But in this freedom of choice, the Lord eagerly awaits that the soul will become ready for the decisive meeting, the meeting of man and God. Only then, having seen the Invisible, does the person find themselves and at the same time draw near to the spiritual building of Christ's Church.

On the morning of November 16, the Rector of the Moscow Theological Academy, Bishop Kirill of Sergiyev Posad and Dmitrov, led the Divine Liturgy at the Intercession Academic Church. His Eminence was concelebrated by faculty and students in holy orders.

During the singing of the antiphons, the bishop performed the rites of tonsure as readers for fourth-year undergraduate students Feodor Korobeinik, Nikolai Novak, Nikolai Perekrestov-Olovyanishnikov, and Diomid Podgorny.

After the Eucharistic Canon, second-year master's student Alexander Fedorov was ordained to the deaconate.

A sermon after the Communion verse was delivered by first-year master's student Priest Arseniy Ivanov.

After the Liturgy, Bishop Kirill addressed the community of the academic church with an archpastoral word.

The evening before, on November 15, the Sunday All-Night Vigil was led by the Dean of the Icon Painting Faculty of MThA, Archimandrite Luka (Golovkov), concelebrated by the academy clergy.

Before the reading of the kathismas, a sermon to the worshippers was delivered by first-year master's student Kirill Drozdov.
