A regular meeting of the Joint Doctoral Dissertation Council of the Moscow, St. Petersburg and Minsk Theological Academies
On June 29, Archimandrite Sergiy (Akimov) headed a regular meeting of the Joint Doctoral Dissertation Council of the Moscow, St. Petersburg and Minsk Theological Academies.
At first, Archpriest Maxim Kozlov, Chairman of the Educational Committee of the Russian Orthodox Church, addressed members of the council with a welcoming speech.
At the meeting, they approved two topics for doctoral dissertations:
- Hierodeacon George (Ramazyan). Features of the Russian-Armenian interfaith dialogue in the XIX - early. XX centuries. Scientific consultant: Vladimir Mikhailovich Kirillin, Doctor of Philology, Professor of the Church History Department at the Moscow Theological Academy.
- Hieromonk Sergiy (Barabanov). Development of the socio-political concept of the Roman Catholic Church in the first half of the 20th century (up to the II Vatican Council). Scientific consultant: Archpriest Maxim Kozlov, PhD in Theology, Chairman of the Educational Committee of the Russian Orthodox Church.
The Dissertation Council decided to send a petition to the leadership of the Moscow Theological Academy in order to attach Hierodeacon George (Ramazyan) and Hieromonk Sergius (Barabanov) to this theological school.
