Priest Pavel Lizgunov, Vice-Rector for academic work of the Moscow Theological Academy, was confirmed in his function.

On March 24, 2020, His Holiness Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill imposed a positive resolution on the report of the bishop of Zvenigorod Pitirim, Rector of the Moscow Theological Academy, and approved priest Pavel Lizgunov as the Vice-Rector for academic work of the Moscow Theological Academy.

Priest Pavel Lizgunov

Born on February 2, 1982 in Omsk.

In 2004 he graduated with honour from the Faculty of Economics of Omsk State University named after F.M. Dostoevsky (studied from1999 to 2004) and has a qualification of an economist-manager.

From 2005 to 2010 he studied at the Moscow Theological Seminary.

From 2010 to 2012 he studied at Master’s level of the Moscow Theological Academy.

From 2012 to 2016 he studied in the Postgraduate department of the Moscow Theological Academy.

In July 2017, he was awarded degree of PhD. in theology for a dissertation on “The Concept of Humility in Antiquity, Scripture and Greek Patristics of the I – III centuries”.

On April 21, 2011, he was ordained into a deacon by Archbishop of Vereisk Evgenyj in the Intercession Church of the Moscow Theological Academy.

On February 26, 2012, he was ordained into a priest by Archbishop of Vereisk Evgenyj in the Intercession Church of the Moscow Theological Academy.

Working experience:

From 2003 to 2005, he worked as a senior economist at Omskvinprom LLC.

From 2010 to 2015 he worked as a release editor of the Educational Committee of the Russian Orthodox Church official website.

From 2014 to 2015, he worked as an individual mentor at the Moscow Theological Academy.

From 2015 to 2018, he worked as the vice-rector for academic work at the Kursk Theological Seminary.

From 2018 to 2020, he worked as the Acting Vice-Rector for Academic work of the Moscow Theological Academy

Since March 24, 2020 - Vice-Rector for Academic work of the Moscow Theological Academy.
