The MThA Vice-rector for educational took part in the meeting of the Moscow Patriarchate Committee on students exchange

On December 24, 2020, Metropolitan of Volokolamsk Hilarion chaired a meeting of the Moscow Patriarchate Committee on a regulation of students exchange. 

The meeting was attended by Metropolitan of Korsun and Western Europe Anthony, Head of the Moscow Patriarchate Office for Foreign Institutions; the Bishop of Peterhof Siluan, Rector of the St. Petersburg Theological Academy; Archimandrite Sergius (Akimov), Rector of the Minsk Theological Academy; Archpriest Maxim Kozlov, Chairman of the Russian Orthodox Church Educational Committee, Rector of the Sretenskaya Theological Seminary; Hieromonk Vyacheslav (Sorokin),Vice-Rector for Educational Work at the Moscow Theological Academy, Hieromonk Apollinary (Panin), Member of the Educational Committee, Rector of the Nikolo-Perervinsk Theological Seminary, S.M. Bortnik, Professor of the Kiev Theological Academy.

Due to the current epidemiological situation, the session took place in a video conference. 

The Committee considered a list of candidates applying for training in foreign universities and made decisions on the prospects of their trainings. Applications were received from the General Church Postgraduate School, Moscow and St. Petersburg Theological Academies, St. Tikhon’s Orthodox Humanitarian University, Yekaterinburg Theological Seminary.

The Moscow Patriarchate Committee for the Regulation of Students Exchange was established in 2012 by a decision of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia. It is presided by Metropolitan of Volokolamsk Hilarion, Chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate Department for External Church Relations, Rector of the All-Church Postgraduate and Doctoral Studies named after Sts Cyril and Methodius. Every year, the best students are selected to be sent to study at foreign universities.
