"Let's accept the feeling of today". The Academy hold Sunday services the Week of the Last Judgment

All over the year, Orthodox Christians remember historical biblical events such as Christmas, Epiphany and His glorious Resurrection from the dead.

But there is an event that has yet to happen, which we await with trepidation and at the same time with joy.

This event is the Last Judgment.

The Lord will come again in glory. He will come to judge the living and the dead, placing some at His right side, others at His left. Therefore, a Christian should constantly judge himself, if he lives in the light of the Gospel or nor.

On February 18, Archimandrite Venedikt (Knyazev) officiated an All-night Vigil co-served teachers and students of the Academy in the priesthood.

The Church still celebrates the Feast of the Purification, so during the divine service we can hear Candelmas hymns.

Before the Kathismas, Alexander Fedorov, a fourth-year undergraduate student, delivered a sermon.

On Sunday 19, Archimandrite Venedikt celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Intercession Academic Church.

At the litany, the clergy raised petitions for the Fatherland and its army, after which a prayer for Holy Rus' was read.

After the Sacrament verse, Alexander Leventsov, a second-year Master's student, delivered a sermon:

“Remembering the Last Judgment, we strive to bring active repentance and through this change for the better. The more we change our thoughts, feelings, words and actions, the more divine grace manifests itself in our hearts, bringing the joy of Christ’s living presence in our lives.
