MThA teachers took part in the opening of "Autumn Salon - 2020. Church Art"
On October 22, a new exhibition "Autumn Salon 2020. Church Art" was presented to the press. Archimandrite Luka (Golovkov), Dean of the Icon-painting faculty and Associate Professor of the History and Theory of Church Art Department and Eugenia Suvorova, Senior Lecturer of the History and Theory of Church Art Department, attended an opening ceremony.
Being established in 1995, it traditionally exhibits works by both famous and young masters. This year 80 artists presented at about 175 exhibits for the Salon. There were five debutants, who showed their works for the first time.
In his welcoming speech, Archimandrite Luka (Golovkov), a member of the expert commission, noted that artistic traditions have been very strong in the Radonezh land. It explains a fact that there are so many participants and among them students of the Icon painting faculty of the Moscow Theological Academy.
L.А. Shitova, Member of the Selection Committee and Head of the “Trinity-Sergius Monastery artistic culture of the 18th-19th centuries" department showed journalists round the exhibition and noted a high level of presented works.
S.V. Nikolaev, I.S. Selmeneva and L.V. Lezhe, Director of the Art Salon "Gallery Lezhe", spoke on behalf of the "Autumn Salon" founders.
