"Let's come into fasting brightly". The Academy entered the Lent

Today the Moscow Theological Academy is stepping on a saving path of the Great Lent. This path reflects the deeds of venerated Orthodox saints such as St. Andrew of Crete, St. John the Climacus, St. Mary of Egypt. This path leads to Christ’s death and Resurrection.

Before starting this long way, Christians ask for forgiveness and pray for each other, so that everyone can begin fasting with a pure heart.

Following this ancient tradition, the Rector of the Academy, teachers and students gathered at the Intercession Academic Church to ask each other for forgiveness and thank the Lord, Who gave us one more year for repentance.

Before the rite of forgiveness, the academic clergy officiated the Great Vespers, which precede Monday service on the first day of the Lent.

At the end of Vespers, Bishop Kirill read a prayer for the beginning of the Lent.
