Sunday services at the Moscow Theological Academy

On September 19, the Church celebrates the miracle of Archangel Michael in Khoneh.

In Phrygia, near the city of Hierapolis, there was a temple in honor of Archangel Michael and a healing spring by its side, where many faithful people could get help and baptize.

A pious sexton Archippus had been serving there for 60 years, when once pagans decided to destroy the church and kill the faithful servant of God. They jointed two mountain rivers in a channel and directed its flow to the church. However, when St. Arhippus prayed to Archangel Michael the devastating flow was turned away. The pagans fled in fear and the place got its name "Khony", which means "cleft".

On September 18, the Bishop of Zvenigorod Theodorite officed an All-night vigil at the Intercession Academic Church.

During the Canon, Bishop Theodorite elevated Reader Bogdan Belashov to a rank of Subdeacon.

On September 19, Bishop Theodorite celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Intercession Academic Church co-served by teachers and students in the priesthood.

During the singing of antiphons, Bishop Theodorit tonsured the 4th year undergraduate students Gleb Osipov, Dmitry Chikalin, Artem Samsonov, Ivan Shcherbakov and a 1st year graduate student Oleg Shabalin as Readers.

After reading the Gospel, the Rector addressed an assembly with his archpastoral word.

Also today, the Church celebrates the transfer of saint relics of the Murom miracle workers Peter and Fevronia. During the service, some special prayers for a family and matrimony were read.

After the Eucharistic Canon, Bishop Theodorite ordaned Subdeacon Bogdan Belashov into a Deacon.

Before the Holy Communion, Hieromonk Mikhey (Kopytov) delivered a sermon.
