Sunday services at the Intercession Academic Church
On September 4 and 5, Sunday services took place at the Intercession Church of the Moscow Theological Academy. During the divine services, additionally to Sunday chants, the choir sang a Troparion of the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos.
On September 4, the Bishop of Zvenigorod Theodorite, Rector of the Moscow Theological Academy, led an all-night vigil co-served by the academic clergy.
On September 5, Bishop Theodorite performed the Divine Liturgy co-served by teachers and students in the priesthood.
On antiphons, the Rector tonsured Vladimir Sologub, a second-year Master's student, Semyon Mikhailov and Alexander Buyanov, a first-year Master's students, and Daniil Yakushev, a third-year Bachelor's student, as Readers. After that, Bishop Theodorite elevated Tigri Aghajanyan, a fourth-year undergraduate student at the Sretenskaya Theological Academy, in a rank of a Subdeacon.
After reading the Holy Gospel, Bishop Theodorite addressed an assembly with his archpastoral word.
During the Divine Liturgy, Bishop Theodorite ordained Deacon Arseniy Ivanchenko, a second-year Master's student at the Sretenskaya Theological Academy, into a presbyter and Subdeacon Tigriy Aghajanyan into a deacon.
After singing the sacrament verse, Hieromonk Cassian (Plosskiy) delivered a sermon.
At the end of the Divine Liturgy, Bishop Theodorite headed the glorification for the feast of the Dormition of the Mother of God.
