Graduation works were defended at the Faculty of Icon Painting and Church Art

On June 26, 2023, head of the qualification committee was Archimandrite Luka (Golovkov), Dean of the Faculty of Icon Painting and Church Art. 

The committee and guests gathered in the Great Hall of the Moscow Theological Academy to hear students' reports on their works, which were based on ancient examples of Byzantine and Russian icons. In turn, tutors professionally evaluated each of the presented images. During the defense, the students expressed their gratitude to their teachers for guidance and assistance.

The following works were presented: 

• "Hodegetria" for the Assumption Church in Matveevskoye, Moscow by Daria Volkova;
• "Rejoices in You" for the Assumption Church in Matveevskoye by Alevtina Martynova;
• "Resurrection" for the Assumption Church in Matveevskoye by Anastasia Novitskaya;
• "Hodigitria" for the church of Archangel Michael in Bugulma by Grigory Kurochkin;
• "The Pantocrator" for the church of Archangel Michael in Bugulma by Anna Pyankova;
• "St. Nicholas with angiography" for Alexander Nevsky Church in Ryazan by Elena Podvornaya;
• "St. Seraphim of Sarov with angiography " for the Alexander Nevsky Church in Ryazan by Alexandra Bobylkova;
• "The Intercession" for the St. Sophia Convent near Tokyo by Tatyana Andreenkova;
• "Resurrection" for an Old Believer Orthodox church of St. George the Victorious in Yegoryevsk by Nikita Kadochnikov;
• "St. Joseph the Hesychast with angiography " for the Moscow Theological Academy by Olga (Alina) Onishchenko;
• gaiter "Apostol Luke" for the MThA Department of Icon painting by Elizaveta Panova.

At the end of the defense, graduates were greeted on the successful completion of their studies and were wished God's help in their future work.
