The Moscow Theological Academy welcomed students and teachers from Smolensk educational institutions

On March 11, 2023, students and teachers of Smolensk educational institutions together with the Metropolitan of Smolensk and Dorogobuzh Isidor, Rector of the Smolensk Theological Seminary, visited the Moscow Theological Academy.

It was a part of a three-day pilgrimage trip for students and teachers from the Smolensk Theological Seminary, the Smolensk Pedagogical College, the Smolensk Basic Medical College named after K.S. Konstantinov and the Smolensk Academy of Vocational Education.

During their visit, representatives of Smolensk educational institutions of met up with the Bishop of Zvenigorod Kirill, Rector of the Moscow Theological Academy. The meeting took place at the Elizabethan Hall of the Academy.

Bishop Kirill got the students acquainted with the history of the Moscow Theological Academy, the current state of the theological school and its educational and scientific activities.

The guests were able to ask the Rector their questions about theological education, a church life, as well as the internal routine at the Academy. 

At the end, the Metropolitan of Smolensk and Dorogobuzh Isidor thanked Bishop Kirill for the warm welcome and expressed hope for further cooperation between the Moscow Theological Academy and the Smolensk Theological Seminary. After that, the Rector of the Academy presented everyone a small image of St. Simeon of Pskov.
