Hieromonk Cassian (Plosky) performed a funeral service at the grave of five students perished in the fire

September 28, 2023 marks 37 years since the dramatic event, when the fire broke out at the Moscow Theological Seminary and claimed the lives of five students.

The tragedy happened at night on September 27-28, 1986.

As a result, third-year seminary students Igor Krasov, Vladislav Lugin, Yaroslav Korotetsky, Vladimir Maksimov, Dmitry Logotov were killed.

On September 28, at the Annunciation Cemetery of Sergiev Posad, with the blessing of the Bishop of Sergiev Posad and Dmitrov Kirill, Rector of the Moscow Theological Academy, Hieromonk Cassian (Plosky), a senior assistant to the Vice-rector for Educational work of the Academy, performed a funeral service at their grave.
