Bishop of Zvenigorod Theodorite took part in a meeting of the Interdepartmental Coordination Group for Teaching Theology at Universities

On October 6, the Metropolitan of Volokolamsk Hilarion, Head of the External Church Relations Department, chaired a regular meeting of the Interdepartmental Coordination Group for Teaching Theology at Universities. 

The Bishop of Zvenigorod Theodorite, Rector of the Moscow Theological Academy, were present at the meeting. 

The Bishop of Bronnitsy Eugen, Chairman of the Synodal Department for Religious Education and Catechesis, made a report on the preparations for the XXIX International Christmas Educational Readings titled "Alexander of Neva: the West and the East, Historical Memory". 

The participants also discussed the preparations for the 4th All-Russian scientific conference with international participation on "Theology in the scientific and educational environment: tasks and solutions" and for the XXIX International Christmas Educational Readings in 2021.

• The Group discussed some issues of allocating budgetary places in Theology for 2021 and the prospects for interaction between church structures and the Russian Ministry of Education and Science;
• As a part of their work participants heard a report on the activities of the Working Group under the Russian Ministry of Education and Science. They aimed to improve the range of scientific specialties, the results of work in the field of "Theology" and scientific projects in Theology supported by the Russian Foundation for Basic Research. 

At the end of the meeting, the Group discussed the planning and organization of its current work according to Regulations taken by the Holy Synod on March 11, 2020.

The Interdepartmental Coordination Group for Teaching Theology at Universities was formed by the decision of the Holy Synod at a meeting on December 25, 2012 (Journal No. 114) following the results of the Patriarchal Conference “Theology at Universities: Interaction between Church, State and Society” (28-29 November 2012).
