Bishop Kirill met with SVO soldiers
On March 22, 2024, after the Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts, the Bishop of Sergiev Posad and Dmitrov Kirill, Abbot of the Holy Trinity-St. Sergius Lavra and Rector of the Moscow Theological Academy, met with the soldiers, who were injured at the special military operation actions, and their families in the Elizabeth Hall of the Academy.
During the meeting, Bishop Kirill recalled life stories of the Trinity Monastery monks, who went through the Great Patriotic War and found God. Drawing the listeners' attention to the special place of the Holy Trinity Lavra in the Russian history, Bishop Kirill spoke about its founder, St. Sergius, and his role in the events of 1380, which marked the beginning of the liberation from the Mongol-Tatar yoke.
At the end of the meeting, Bishop Kirill presented each guest with a gift book “Inspired at the Trinity. Memoirs” by Archimandrite Tikhon (Agrikov), who was a veteran of the Great Patriotic War.
