Bishop Kirill met with Elena V. Titova, Director of the Russian Museum of Decorative Arts
On January 31, 2023, the Bishop of Zvenigorod Kirill, Rector of the Moscow Theological Academy, met with Elena Viktorovna Titova, Director of the Russian Museum of Decorative Arts.
The meeting was also attended by G.B. Andreeva, Chief adviser to the director of the Russian Museum of Decorative Arts, Deacon Dimitry Serov, Head of the MThA Publishing House, A.S. Novikov, Director of the MThA Christian Art Museum «Church and Archaeological Cabinet» and A.V. Zybkin, Head of the project department at the Publishing House.
Bishop Kirill greeted the guests within the walls of the oldest theological educational institution of the Russian Orthodox Church. During the meeting, they discussed plans for developing inter-museum cooperation, organizing joint educational events and other topics of mutual interest.
Background information:
The Russian Museum of Decorative Arts is a specialized federal art museum that collects, preserves, studies and popularizes the decorative, applied and folk art of Russia. The museum was established by the Decree of the Government of the RSFSR of February 10, 1981.
The museum is located in the historical center of Moscow, on the Garden Ring, in the mansion of the Streshnev boyars, later Count Osterman. From 1834 to 1918, the Moscow Theological Seminary was located here. After the Second World War, the building was transferred to the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet and the Council of Ministers of the RSFSR.
