Bishop Kirill celebrated the festive Divine services on the day Archangel Michael and the Heavenly Powers at the Intercession Academic Church

How can we fully thank disembodied angels for all those benefits they show to us? They announced Christmas and Resurrection of the Lord. They save people from death and harm. And they will call for the general resurrection when Christ would come.

Holy Archangels and angels, we pray to you as sleepless guardians of our bodies and souls and loyal servants of God:

“Let us be jealous of the angelic life, and direct our thoughts to the Heights” (Canon to the Archangel Michael and other Heavenly Powers, 8th canto).

On the eve of the holiday, the Bishop of Sergiev Posad and Dmitrov Kirill, Rector of the Moscow Theological Academy, officiated the All-Night Vigil at the Intercession Academic Church.

Archimandrite Venedikt (Knyazev) performed the lithia at the Great Vespers.

Before reading the Kathisma, Mikhail Polyakov, a fourth-year undergraduate student, delivered a sermon.

On November 21, Bishop Kirill celebrated the Divine Liturgy co-served by the academic clergy.

During the service, the Rector tonsured Master's students Alexey Denisov, Konstantin Brednev and Nikolay Kharitonov as Readers.

After the Cherubim Song, Bishop Kirill ordained Evgeniy Voronov, a third-year graduate student at the Sretensky Theological Academy, into a priest. After the Eucharistic Canon, he performed the diaconal ordination of Anthony Eliseev, a second-year Master's student at the Sretensky Theological Academy.

Before the Communion, Hieromonk Innokenty (Melikhov) delivered a sermon.

At the end of the service, the academic clergy sang the glorification to the Heavenly Powers in front of the festive icon.

Then, Bishop Kirill congratulated everyone on the holiday and addressed an assembly with his an archpastoral word.
