Bishop Theodorite celebrated Sunday services at the Intercession Academic Church

October 4, Sunday, festive services at the Academic Intercession Church were held to celebrate the leave-taking feast of the Exaltation of the Holy and Life-Giving Cross.

On October 3, the Bishop of Zvenigorod Theodorite officed an all-night vigil. The priesthood wore purple sacerdotal dresses as on the feast of the Exaltation of the Holy and Life-Giving Cross of the Lord. And for the last time the hymns of the holiday were sung.

On October 4, the Bishop of Zvenigorod Theodorite celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the academic church.

After reading the Holy Scriptures, he addressed an assembly with a word of sermon in which focused on the meaning of the day’s Gospel passage.

It taught us through an example of a Canaan woman the importance of humility in a Christian life.

Two academic male choirs under the conduct of Alexander Maskalyuk and Dmitry Mikhalev performed chanting at the evening service and the Divine Liturgy.
