Bishop Theodorite celebrated the Divine Liturgy on Saturday of the Bright Week

On May 7 and 8, Saturday services of the Bright Week were held at the Intercession Church of the Moscow Theological Academy.

“Artos” is a type of consecrated bread, which symbolizes Resurrected Christ’s Body and His visible presence among us. That’s why, it stands in front of the Royal Doors during the Bright Week.

Today, on the last day of the Bright Week, it was distributed to the faithful. Christians keep pieces of the bread as a shrine taking it in their needs.

On May 7, Archimandrite Benedict (Knyazev) officed an evening service at the Intercession Academic Church.

On May 8, the Bishop of Zvenigorod Theodorite, Rector of the Moscow Theological Academy, celebrated the Divine Liturgy co-served by teachers and students in the priesthood.

After the ambo prayer, the clergy with the parishioners of the Intercession Church went on a procession.

After the procession, Bishop Theodorite read a prayer on parceling out the “Artos”.
