Bishop Theodorite took part in a meeting on preparing for the 600th anniversary of opening St. Sergius’ of Radonezh relics

On April 14, a joint meeting of the STSL, the MThA and the Organizing Committee on preparing for the 600th anniversary of opening St. Sergius’ of Radonezh relics and the foundation of the Trinity Cathedral took place at the Patriarchal Hall of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow.

The Bishop of Zvenigorod Theodorite, Rector of the Moscow Theological Academy, were present at the meeting. 

His Holiness Patriarch Kirill addressed an assembly with an opening speech.

Then the word was given to S.V. Chemezov, Chairman of the Trustee Board, Vice-Chairman of the Organizing Committee and A.D. Beglov, Honorary Member of the Trustee Board, Vice-Chairman of the Organizing Committee.

The Bishop of Sergiev Posad and Dmitrov Thomas, Abbot of the Lavra and an executive secretary of the Organizing Committee, made a report on the restoration work done at the Holy Trinity St. Sergius Lavra.

The Bishop of Zvenigorod Theodorite reported on the preparations done by the Moscow Theological Academy.

Then, S.A. Pakhomov, Deputy of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, announced the concept of developing Sergiev Posad city.

A joint report was presented by Priest Vasily Kovalchuk, Secretary of the Russian Orthodox Church Committee on pilgrimage and bringing of shrines, and K.V. Malofeev, Chairman of the Trustee Board the St. Basil the Great Foundation.

After all reports were considered, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill summed up the meeting.
