"Do not despise Thy work, do not leave Thy creation": the Academy read the Canon of St. Andrew of Crete

On April 14, the Bishop of Zvenigorod Theodorite and the clergy of the Academic church read the entire Great Canon of St. Andrew of Crete.

On "Mary's Standing", the Church prescribes to read the entire Great Canon of St. Andrew of Crete and the life of St. Mary of Egypt. It recalls a story of a woman who led a dissolute and prodigal life, but was able to take a step on the way of repentance. She understood the severity of her fall and spent 47 years in the wilderness praying to God.

On April 14, the Bishop of Zvenigorod Theodorite, Rector of the Moscow Theological Academy, headed services on Wednesday evening of the fifth week of the Great Lent. At Matins, Bishop Theodorite and the clergy of the Academic church read the Great Canon of St. Andrew of Crete.

Hieromonk Varnava (Losev) read the Life of St. Mary of Egypt.
