Postgraduate student of the Church History Department at the Moscow Theological Academy took part in the International Scientific and Practical Conference in Kiev
On October 27, the Kiev Theological Academy hosted the XII International Scientific and Practical Conference "Theological and State Education: History of Relationships - Modernity - Prospects".
Both students and teachers of various theological educational institutions as well as the Ukrainian Orthodox Church hierarchs presented their reports on researches done in the fields of Theology, Liturgy, Patrology and Church History.
Vladislav Pshibyshevsky, a first-year MThA postgraduate student, gave a speech on "The issue of teaching the God’s Law at the Local Council 1917-1918." The speaker highlighted a number of questions, projects and decisions made at the Local Council regarding the God’s Law teaching in secondary educational institutions of the Russian Empire. He made the audience acquainted with previously unknown archival information about functioning of the Department No. 15 "On Teaching the God’s Law". Vladislav Pshibyshevsky's report aroused considerable interest. Participants discussed a possibility of incorporating the approaches developed at the Local Council 1917–1918 into the contemporary school system.
