The Academy celebrated the day of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God

The Christians feel special reverence and love to the Mother of God with as She became a real Mother for the entire Church. Her maternal care has no boundaries and extends centuries, countries and lands hugging human hearts.

In the most difficult periods of history, the Mother of God gave Her help, consolation and spiritual joy. So, Her icons were visible evidence of Her image imprinted in the hearts and memory of all the faithful.

Nowadays, the iconography of the Mother of God is really extended. There are numerous ьmiraculous icons found in different parts of the world, one of them is a Kazan icon.

This image was revealed in Kazan in 1579. Through it the Most Holy Theotokos helped and guided the Christians during hard times.

These days, when evangelical love grows cold in people’s hearts, we need the help of the Mother of God more than ever.

Praying in front of the Kazan icon of the Mother of God, teachers and students of the Moscow Theological Academy ask the Intercessor of the Christian race to save the Church in unity and protect its people.

You are a golden paradise, divinely sanctified and beautiful; You are a holy tree, sanctified by the Holy Spirit; You are the lamp of the non-evening Light. You illuminate all creation with the Light of Your Son. Pray to Christ, Virgin Mary, to save our Fatherland and people who call You in troubles.

Before the Kathisma, Joseph Ganeshin, a fourth-year undergraduate student, delivered a sermon.
