The Academy sang the praise to the Mother of God

At the Annunciation, Archangel Gabriel greeted the Most Pure Virgin with the word “Rejoice.” Nowadays, the Church following archangel’s example sings this angelic greeting to the Mother of God: “Rejoice, You, unbridled Bride.”

The heavens rejoice and the earth rejoices, the angelic army and the entire human race glorify the Mother of God, Who gave birth to the Savior of the world. 

On April 19, the Bishop of Sergiev Posad and Dmitrov Kirill, Rector of the Moscow Theological Academy, officiated an evening service with an Akathist to the Mother of God at the Intercession Academic Church.

On April 20, Bishop Kirill celebrated the Divine Liturgy and ordained Semyon Semenov, a third-year undergraduate student, into a deacon.
