The Academy honored the memory of Archpriest Konstantin Ruzhitsky on the day of his 60th death anniversary
November 18, 2024 marks the 60th death anniversary of Archpriest Konstantin Ruzhitsky, who was the Rector of the Moscow Theological Academy in 1952–1964.
For more than ten years, Archpriest Konstantin headed the Moscow theological schools. He was an experienced leader, a zealous shepherd and a scientist. His kind and friendly character helped him at the work of upbringing future priests of the Russian Church.
His sacrificial service to God and the Church of Christ was the highest value for the ever-memorable Archpriest Konstantin. Through his life he generously shared his rich pastoral experience and worked everywhere the Lord send him.
On the day, the academic family officiated a divine service at the Intercession Academic Church and offered prayers for the repose of the ever-memorable Archpriest Konstantin.
Then Archimandrite Hilarion (Forkavets), Confessor of the Moscow Theological Academy, led a funeral lithia co-celebrated by Hieromonk Mikhey (Kopytov), Hieromonk John (Merzlyakov) and Hierodeacon Vladimir (Khachapuridze).
