The Academy enrolls students on an online English course
We are pleased to announce the launching of the registration procedure to the English-speaking online education program of the Moscow Theological Academy on Wednesday 23 August.
The training offers a 9-month course in seven fundamental disciplines of the academic program ‘Orthodox Theology’ including Holy Scriptures of the Old and the New Testament, Dogmatic Theology, Patrology, Fundamentals of the Orthodox Liturgy, History of the Church and History of the Russian Orthodox Church.
The lectures are intended for training future clergy and church staff who serve in the Russian Orthodox Church’s parishes abroad and already have a secular higher education and the necessary study skills, as well as for non-Russian speaking students who wish to communicate and to study the Orthodox doctrine in more detail.
The educational process will be held online and will require self-study from the students. They will be tracked remotely by a supervising team of teachers via online consultations and tests to determine their progress and course completion rates. A final online examination, consisting of a multiple-choice questionary, an essay and/or an oral part will take place at the end of the academic year. The graduates will be awarded the standard certificate on the successful completion of the course.
The registration will be open until Tuesday 26 September 8 a.m. (Moscow time). The course will start on Friday 29 September. An introductory online-meeting with the supervisors of the course will take place on Monday 2 October at 4 p.m. (Moscow time).
