The Academy honored the memory of St. Seraphim of Sarov

According to Christ’s words, the Heavenly Kingdom starts here on earth. It shines through those hearts, who give themselves to their neighbors and to God. 

On August 1, the Church glorifies St. Seraphim of Sarov, whose heart full of the Divine Spirit was open to everyone. The joy of his life was the joy of Christ defeat the death. What could be more important and joyful than this?

On July 31, Hieromonk Varnava (Losev) officed the All-Night Vigil at the intercession Academic Church co-served by teachers and students in the priesthood. On August 1, Archimandrite Venedikt (Knyazev) celebrated the Divine Liturgy co-served by the academic clergy.

After the Sacrament verse, Priest Valery Dukhanin delivered a sermon.

At the end of the Divine Liturgy, the academic clergy sang the glorification to St. Seraphim of Sarov.
