Abstract
<\/strong>This article provides short biographic information about Bardai\u1e63an (154-222\/223) and discusses the problem of authorship of the work \u201cThe book of the laws of countries\u201d. In the main
part the A. considers the value of key concepts of Bardai\u1e63an \u2013 fate, nature and freedom, which then in detail are considered in the context of Bardai\u1e63an\u2019s doctrine. In the conclusion of the article the importance of the doctrine of Bardai\u1e63an anti-fatalistic and anti-astrological polemic is defined and an Orthodox assessment of the ideology of the Syrian writer is given.
