On November 15 th Oleg Suhanov, Moscow Theological Academy teacher and a member\nof the Russian Orthodox Church Academic Council, took part in an inter-regional\ntheoretical and practical conference \u201cOrthodox religious education, physical education and\nsport\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the conference representatives of different institutions discussed the importance\nof close cooperation between Russian Orthodox Church, government authorities, sports\norganisations while implementing sports skills into educational process of ecclesiastical\nschools. There were also a number of speeches made by priests who work with sporting\ncommunities and teachers of ecclesiastical, sporting and pedagogical universities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oleg Suhanov gave a report on \u201cPhysical education in Russian Orthodox Church\necclesiastical schools: challenges and prospects\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Issues raised at the conference triggered the liveliest discussion afterwards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On November 12 th the conference continued in Moscow social-pedagogical university as\na part of an extension course for sport teachers at Russian Orthodox Church seminaries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The conference was organised by the Russian Patriarchate Physical Education and\nSport Council and the Moscow Social-Pedagogical University. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
