On May 27, students of the Moscow Theological Academy and state universities attended an Easter ball at the Palace of Culture named after Yu.A. Gagarin. The initiative was taken by the Moscow Theological Academy and the city administration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the tradition, the event is attended by students of theological institutions, state universities and cadets of the St. Aleksey\u2019s desert. All participants noted the high level of organization and appreciated the joyful and friendly atmosphere of the evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

S.Yu. Valshin, a curator and a choreographer, said a few words about the importance of reconstructing noble balls:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are trying to restore the noble balls of the 19th century, their traditions, etiquette and even dance patterns. At least we can find something in order to restore some best features of Russia perished in 1917. We all perfectly understand that classical culture such as noble dancing, ballet and opera is a bygone era for modern people, who lack them in order to refine and harmonize their inner world\u00bb.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The ball opened with the Polonaise followed by Waltz, Contrdance, Padegras and Merry Gallop. The first part ended with \"Pre-war Waltz\" performed by Evgeny Shagunov, a 2nd year undergraduate student of the Moscow Theological Academy, and his partner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Between the first and the second sections dancers could take some refreshments and shared their emotions of the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the end of the ball, the participants expressed their gratitude to the organizers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
