Eleven recommended authors were the representatives of the ascetic Orthodox tradition except St. John Chrysostom, who was the first on the list. From Saint Theophan\u2019s point of view, Saint John Chrysostom was a teacher of asceticism and prayer. The corpus of St. John Chrysostom\u2019s exegetical works only approves his status as an ascetic writer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\"
