On December 13 th a public meeting was hold at the Theological department where they gave a\nreport on academic work in 2019. A researcher of the department Anatoliy Parpare gave a\npresentation in which he pointed out that in this year they have published more than 60 scientific\narticles, took part in more than 40 workshops and conferences. Also 2 issues of a scholarly journal\n\u201cBible and Christian antiquity\u201d and 2 issues of \u201cTheological questions\u201d came out. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pavel Sizintsev (scientific advisor \u2013 N. K. Gavryushin) and priest Sergey Denisyuk (scientific\nadvisor \u2013 P. K. Dobrotsvetov, associate professor) successfully defended their candidate thesises.\nScientific seminars on \u201cConsensus partum\u201d, \u201cWhat is in the chalice at the Liturgy of Pre-sanctified\nGifts?\u201d, \u201cFor and against of a synthetic theory\u201d were held in the Moscow Theological Academy\n\nand the Purification Theological Seminary. Workshops on thesis requirements were given to\nBachelor and Master students. An international theological conference in honour of 40 th death\nanniversary of archpriest Geroge Florovsky (1893-1979) is due to on December 23 rd 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Associate professor Dobrotsvetov gave a report on academic work of the School of patristic\nresearches and presented some scientific works. The members of the School are professors,\nassociate professors, lecturers, assistants and post-graduates. The School also hold an International\nscientific and theological conference \u201cMethodological issues of theological and patristic\nresearches\u201d on May 17 th in the Purification Theological Seminary. And it is about to take place on\nDecember 26 th in the Moscow Theological Academy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The following books became prize winners in a contest \u201cEnlightenment by book\u201d in 2019:\n\u201cPatrology Church writings before a church council in Nikea\u201d Vol. 1 (group of authors \u2013 Sidorov,\nDobrotsvetov, Fokin; edited by Illarion (Alfeev), Metropolitan of Volokolam), \u201cSaint fathers and\nChurch teachers\u201d Vol. 1, \u201cChurch writings before a church council in Nikea\u201d Vol. 2 and \u201cThe\nGolden Age of patristic writings\u201d. These works were published as a result of a joint work of\nProfessor Fokin, Professor Sidorov, Associate Professor Dobrotsvetov together with editors and\ntranslators. Members of The Scientific School published 26 articles, took part in 18 national and\ninternational conferences as well as successfully defended their qualification papers and Master\u2019s\nthesises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Publication of a new patristic volume for Bachelor students and a book \u201cVenerable John Kassian of\nRome. Dogmatic, polemic and ascetic works\u201d from a series of \u201cAll patristic writings in Russian\u201d is\nabout to come out. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A scientific and theological journal \u201cDiacrisis\u201d is in process. The presentation of some new books\nis about in the end of January 2020. The Scientific School is organizing a conference \u201cLife, work\nand spiritual heritage of the Moscow Theological Academy graduates and Nikon\n(Roszhdestvenskiy), monk of St. Trinity-Sergius Laura (for his 100 th death anniversary) on\nFebruary 20 th 2020 and a workshop \u201cTheological basis and patristic evidence of a church prayer for\nthe dead\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The following conferences are scheduled in 2020: the third scientific and practical conference\n\u201cMethodological issues of theological and patristic researches\u201d (in September) and \u201cMystical\ntheology. Mystic. Mysticism.\u201d (in December). After discussing presentations members of the\ndepartment accepted reports and a work plan of scientific schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
